What Changes When Your Prenatal Massage Therapist Is Also a Doula

Prenatal massage can look very different depending on who is providing it. One of the biggest differences in my work is that I’m both a licensed massage therapist and a doula.

That means my approach goes beyond symptom relief. I’m paying attention to how your body is adapting to pregnancy and how those changes may influence labor and recovery.

As a doula, I understand how pelvic balance, muscle tension, and nervous system regulation affect the birthing process. During massage sessions, I’m supporting:

  • Efficient movement patterns

  • Reduced compensatory tension

  • Physical and nervous system readiness for labor

Massage during pregnancy isn’t just about relaxation. It’s part of a bigger picture of preparation and support.

Many of my massage clients eventually choose to work with me as their doula because they experience this continuity of care firsthand.

If you’re looking for prenatal massage informed by both bodywork and birth support, you can book a session or schedule a meet & greet through my website.
