Let Me Introduce Myself,

I’m Jayme Brewington (she/her)

I'm a birth nerd through and through, like, seriously!

Experience Evidence Based Birth Support in Colorado Springs

Meet Jayme Brewington

I've got my hands in all things birth-related, I’m a Birth Doula, Midwife’s Assistant, Childbirth Educator, Infant Massage Instructor, Night Nanny, Infant Sleep Consultant, Fertility Specialist and Massage Therapist, specializing obviously in Maternity and Postpartum Massage.

And just when you thought I couldn't possibly do more, I’m an award winning photographer with a love affair for photographing all the Birthy Stuff. Because let's face it, those pregnancy, birth, and newborn days fly by faster than a superhero on caffeine, and having photographic proof is like winning the jackpot!

My mission?

To guide you through this wild journey with evidence-based wisdom and a toolkit that makes you feel completely prepared for all the things that can come up.

I'm not here to just offer services – I want our time together to be a full-on EXPERIENCE. Because let's be real, birthing babies and navigating parenthood isn’t something for the faint of heart and it’s good to have a village!

I am PRO QUEER, PRO FAT, PRO ALL BODIES TOO, PRO CHOICE, PRO FEMINISM, PRO EMPOWERMENT, and PRO UTERUS TOO!

To my BIPOC friends, LGBTQI+ folx, my birthers of all shapes and sizes, younger, older and in-between and to my singles, pairs and polyamorous cuddles…

I offer a safe and supportive space where we stand for empowerment, strength, love and acceptance.

I grew up in Minnesota, was living in South Dakota, and somehow ended up in Colorado Springs. You can blame a psychic.

A friend dragged me to see one, and she told me to move west the first chance I got. I laughed, went home, and forgot about it entirely. Then a few months later I met a family from Colorado Springs at a music festival who needed a nanny. I quit my corporate job and moved two weeks later. The psychic has never been mentioned again. She knows what she did.

It wasn't long before I met my partner, got married, and we started trying to build a family. My husband is trans, so fertility wasn't exactly straightforward. When I went looking for guidance on sperm donors and fertility treatments, I found almost nothing. So I did what I do: I devoured every resource I could find and figured it out myself.

Once we finally got pregnant, I fell completely into the world of birth. I learned about doulas early in my first pregnancy, built a little community around myself, and walked away from that birth feeling like I could do anything. Genuinely one of the most empowering experiences of my life.

That's why I do this work. I want every first-time parent walking into birth feeling unsure or overwhelmed to walk out knowing they advocated for themselves the whole way through.

I've been supporting birthing people and bodies in Colorado Springs for 9 years as a birth doula, childbirth educator, and massage therapist. Whether you're looking for birth support, prenatal massage, or just someone in your corner who actually gets it, you're in the right place.

A Few of My Favorite Things:

Colorado sunsets and that view of Pikes Peak. Seriously, it never gets old.

Freshly baked bread with butter and peanut butter, paired with a cold brew that is more sugar and cream than coffee. No apologies.

Positive pregnancy tests. All of them. When I find out I'm pregnant I test every day for about two weeks, because who can trust just one? Or five? I personally need at least 23 to feel confident.

Being silly with my babies, because the days are long but the years are so short.

Documenting everything. Give me all of the photos.

Watching the immediate shift in someone the moment they give birth. However they do it. Every single time.

Yoga and Peloton. It has helped me lose over 190 pounds and I will shout that from the rooftops.

Solo shopping trips, because I'm introverted and I'm on a mission. I don't need anyone slowing me down.

Teaching people about TTC, birth, and infant sleep, because knowledge is power and confidence changes everything.

Starting projects. All of the projects. Also hiding all of the unfinished ones, because I have ADHD and I get bored. We don't talk about the unfinished ones.

Nachos. My husband loves nachos. My kids love nachos. We are a nacho family and we are proud of it.

Fancy nails. My biggest guilty pleasure is a monthly trip to my nail tech. Makeup though? Rarely. Mom bun and a fresh face is the vibe. But when I do show up with a full face you will think I look ahhhmazing.

New parents who feel confident and ready to tackle raising a tiny human.

Plants. All of them. I have an entire room or three dedicated to plants. It takes about three hours to water everything, so I've started watering a few every time I refill my water bottle. Systems, people.

Your photos. Your pregnancy, your birth story, your baby. I love seeing your transformation, physically and mentally. These are the photos you will gush over for the rest of your life, and I love being the one who captures them.

Childbirth Education lesson on pushing and placentas during labor and birth.
Having Jayme as my doula made such a huge difference in my birth experience, but let me start at the beginning. I chose Jayme because of her empathy, expertise, and willingness to listen to what I wanted. There is no shame with Jayme. I wanted a hospital birth *probably* without an epidural—I wasn’t vehemently against it. Jayme helped craft my birth plan to honor my choices. She was available via text when I had confusing false labor towards the end of my pregnancy. And she met us at the hospital, waiting for me to be admitted, when it was time. With her help I was able to stay calm through an intense but very positive and quick, unmedicated birth. She helped me with positioning, counter pressure, gentle suggestions and validating support. I am so grateful for this experience. My husband even said, “why aren’t doulas mandatory for everyone?” If we have another child I know exactly who I will call.

Doula draws baby on pregnant woman during childbirth education
We were so lucky to work with Jayme (who is an incredible doula and human!) on the birth of our first little one.

The classes through LBW were exceptional and we felt so much more prepared than we would have otherwise. The classes helped distill the overwhelming amount of information out there into digestible segments and felt empowering instead of debilitating. All of the doulas in LBW were amazing, and it was great to benefit from the experience of each of them.

We were deeply privileged to have Jayme at our birth. Jayme is such a force of calm and one of the most emotionally intelligent people I know. She seamlessly navigated the entire experience, creating space for my husband to play a central role while ensuring I felt supported the entire birth.

We could not have been more grateful to have Jayme by our side, she is truly an amazing doula and anyone would be lucky to birth with her.

A family of five sitting and standing on a concrete ledge outdoors, with modern buildings in the background. They are all wearing stylish clothing and red sunglasses, and appear to be enjoying themselves.
Excellent education classes for the expecting couple. Excellent doula services. Provides a thorough understanding of pregnancy and what to expect on the big day. Worked with me on payments and had amazing clientele relationship standards. Highly recommend.

Finding Jayme to be my Doula was meant to be!!!! Jayme made my dreams come true! She made my first birth with my baby girl one to remember and she was able to customize my package to include everything I dreamed to have as a part of my birth.

I was able to change my photography package to include more of my baby’s first moments. I was able to add on belly binding which she did an incredible job with and even showed my partner how to do, so he was able to bind me after she left my house. Jayme opened my mind when it came to turning my placenta into capsules to help my body and baby after the birth. (I was never thinking about doing anything with my placenta. Truly, i believe it has made a difference in my recovery)

Jayme and her team did all the hard work and truly helped me through each stage of my pregnancy, labor and postpartum. She was always a text or phone call away no matter what if it was a stupid question or my partner calling because baby almost was born in my home/car.

Jayme is an incredible person and very down to earth. I could not imagine my experience without her! I HIGHLY recommend choosing Jayme as your doula for your first birth or your fifth birth. She will make your experience special and unique for you! Thank you times a million Jayme for everything you do and did for my little family!:) I will be needing you for all of my kiddos:):) thank you again!!!!

On May 30th, Zelda Symphony Rose graced us with her presence. I never thought I would personally need a doula but I’m incredibly thankful I had Jayme there by my side. She was incredibly supportive and listened to me and never made me feel bad about any decision or situation. She comforted me when our birth plan had to change drastically, and most importantly, made sure my hubby stayed focused on eyes on the baby when I had to have an emergency c-section. She did everything she possibly could to help me progress naturally, pushed me without taking me past a boundary I wasn’t capable of. I appreciate her support there deeply, she was able to keep me calm when otherwise I probably would have had a complete panic attack. Zelda is doing beautifully and my recovery is better than expected thanks to Jayme!
